Community-Supported Market Program

What is it?
The Community-Supported Market Program, or CSM, is just one of the many ways the KDFM supports local farmers and producers along with community health and well being. Each week during the program, we pack up the freshest, most in-season produce and have it waiting for our members when they arrive at the market! All our producers participate and benefit, and you can take home a little bit of the market each week without having to shop around. We also provide recipes each week highlighting your basket goodies.
If you’ve ever tried one of the many meal services available these days but would rather support local farmers or felt it was too expensive, too limiting or produced too much packaging waste, we invite you to try our all-local CSM program!
How does it work?
Head to our shop and choose your basket type. There are two available: Farmers Friend* gives you all the best, most in-season produce and Full Market adds meat, eggs and a fun value-added item each week. Sign up online at kokomofarmersmarket.com. The more weeks you sign up for, the better deal you get! Get a subscription for the best savings. Purchase two subscriptions and get a market t-shirt or purchase all three and your first basket is completely FREE! Pay online or order and pay at the market. When your session starts, plan to pick up your basket at the market every Saturday between 10am and 1pm.
*SNAP/EBT benefits can be used for Farmers’ Friend baskets!
What’s the benefit?
Getting a great selection of locally-grown and made food along with simple, tasty recipes your family will love with a convenient weekly pick up saves time while helping you feed your family well and support your local farmers market.
Participating in the basket program benefits local farmers and food producers benefit through easy sales of their goods. Contributing items also gets these vendors’ products into the hands of shoppers who might not otherwise try them and often creates new loyal customers. The CSM program also attracts new, local producers to the KDFM adding more selection, diversity, and local goodness to our market.
